Skills I learned throughout the pathway included hand washing, identifying medical terminology, studying the body's bones, and many more. The Health Services capstone course provided me with certifications that I would not have been able to achieve without the pathway. During my time in Capstone, I’ve been able to manage my time by working on my Senior Project on Health and HIV Awareness. Simultaneously, I was allowed to seek certification in Phlebotomy for my Senior Project while also exploring the different fields in medicine. Our capstone class was also able to participate in a Community Health Awareness Certification program that many of my peers can use in the real world. Paired with the pathway, I was able to further my endeavors in the healthcare field through an organization called HOSA or Future Health Occupations of America. This organization has allowed me to volunteer in the community and compete in skills events which has lead me to travel and meet like minded people in the Medical Field. I hope to use these resources and opportunities to further help me in my future endeavors in the Medical Field. As a senior, I hope to soon attend a college in the mainland to obtain my Bachelors degree in Biology. Once obtaining my B.S. Biology, I foresee myself attending medical school to become a physician and return to Hawaii to help the Health community here.
